Fenerbahçe returned to the Champions League after 18 years and began their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Roma at home. The Turkish side fell behind but earned an important point with an early second-half equalizer.

Fenerbahçe started the second half strongly. Archie Brown equalized in the 48th minute, producing a clever finish over the goalkeeper after receiving a through ball from Mason Greenwood. The goal also marked Fenerbahçe's first Champions League goal in 18 years.
